Delicious and Fruity Mai Tai cocktail recipes!!!

One of the most iconic classic tiki cocktails is Mai Tai. This is the most bastardized one too. Mai Tai showcases the Great Rum. White rum and dark rum combination is used in the preparation of Mai Tai. Lighter bodied and fruity white rum and juicy banana, burnt sugar, vanilla flavoured dark rum makes your mouth feel richer. If you were ever
wondering how to make a perfect Mai Tai cocktail you are at the right place. But before getting into the recipe let us now get to know what Mai Tai is.

What is Mai Tai?

As the story says, in the year 1944, a person called Victor Bergeron prepared a new drink for his friend who came from Tahiti. His friend was very impressed by the blended drink. Actually in his drink Bergeron used rum, some orange Curacao from Holland, fresh lime juice, orgeat from French, rock candy syrup. He garnished this with lime wedges and mint sprig. Bergeron's friend after tasting the drink exclaimed, "Mai Tai-Roa Ae" (Meaning out of this world- The best. ) This is how the Mai Tai got its name.

How do we get ORGEAT syrup?

Almonds, water, sugar, orange flower water are the ingredients of orgeat syrup. This is the reason for the appearance of the tropical cocktail. Orange flower water gives the orgeat a special taste. Now let's check out the two different recipes of Mai Tai.
