Kennedy, the Daiquiri is named after a small town in Cuba and was allegedly invented at the turn of the 20th century by an American engineer, who was working there, ran out of gin and turned to rum. However, given the prevalence of rum in Cuba it is probable that the locals had discovered this delicious drink some time previously.
